Teen Therapy

Despite the many advantages, being a teenager in today's world is not easy.  Under constant pressure to excel in school & sports, under constant scrutiny from friends and acquaintances in social circles, and now under a social media spotlight 24/7 – it’s no wonder teens are struggling to remain in control of their emotions and their lives.

If your teen is changing, becoming distant, shutting you out, struggling in school, showing signs of anxiety and depression, or engaging in dangerous or self-destructive behaviors, it's time to get help. The Aspyre team will work with your teen and your family to get things back on track.

Parent/guardian involvement is an expectation at Aspyre. Caregivers are a critical part of the change process. This involvement may take different forms depending on the needs of your teen and family. We will discuss this further during the initial session.

Technology Addiction- Resources

Am I Addicted to Technology?

It’s easy to see how technology has changed the day to day lives of our teens. They bring their devices with them everywhere and they depend on them for school, work, and social lives. Some signs that your teen is addicted to technology:

  • Anxiety or irritability when separated from digital device

  • Not eating or sleeping

  • Lying about the amount of time spent online

  • Decline in school attendance and/or performance

  • Lack of interest in offline activities

  • Ignoring personal hygiene

Our 10-week technology program is designed to help young people ages 13 – 17, develop healthy habits and balance around their use of technology.  We will provide parents with the knowledge and tools to create healthy uses of technology in the home and recognize the warning signs of technology addiction so parent involvement is required.
